Picture this....you make your way along the tree-lined driveway, past orchards and fields, and there it is. Sitting gracefully before you is the majestic Mangapapa lodge.
This stunning colonial style homestead takes pride of place in 20 acres of beautifully maintained grounds. Sweeping verandahs hint at days gone by, and allow numerous vantage points to survey your idyllic surrounds.
Built in 1885, Mangapapa is one of
Hawke's Bay's
most historic buildings.
As you walk through the grand entrance, you are greeted by the Manager and staff, and from that point on your worries disappear as you are cossetted in the magic of Mangapapa.

Accommodation
At Mangapapa Lodge you have a

All offer spacious, elegant surrounds
to ensure a memorable experience.
Four Executive Suites – Two located in our Corporate Retreat.
The Gamay Executive Suite has a super king size bed, a
separate spacious lounge (popular with families), a private patio
overlooking the golf course, as well as the following features:
Mini bar and Tea/Coffee making facilities
Executive writing desk
NZ and USA Internet Connection
Sky Television/ DVD Player
Digital in-room Safe
Security and locked gate providing privacy
The Syrah Executive Suite offers guests two queen size beds (also popular with families), a private patio and a large bathroom with private spa with double vanity and duo hand basin, as well as the following features:
Mini Bar and Tea/Coffee making facilities
Executive Writing desk
NZ and USA Internet Connection
Sky Television/ DVD Player
Digital in-room Safe
Security and locked gate providing privacy
The main homestead also contains a further two Executive Suites.
The Seefeld Suite is popular with honeymooners and has a super king 4 poster bed, semi attached lounge, a spacious bathroom, as well as the following features:
Mini Bar and Tea/Coffee making facilities
Desk with NZ and USA Internet Connection
Sky Television/ DVD Player
The Macon Executive Suite has a super king size sleigh bed in cherry wood, semi attached lounge, a white marble ensuite with separate shower and bath overlooking manicured gardens and water fountain, plus:

Desk with NZ and USA Internet Connection
Sky Television/ DVD Player
Digital in-room Safe
Mangapapa Lodge also gives you the choice of 7 individually decorated Deluxe Rooms.
Three rooms are located in the main homestead and a further four are
located in the adjoining building, adjacent to the main homestead.
All
are equipped with NZ USA Internet connection, Sky Television / DVD
player, a mini bar and tea & coffee making facilities.
Verona-
situated in the main homestead. Complete with Romeo and Juliet style
furnishings, and a queen size wrought iron bed, it overlooks the front
garden.
Andorra- also in the main homestead, features a king size dark Rimu bed, and has corner views over the garden and orchard.
Bensheim- in the main homestead, this is an elegant room with French doors opening out to our pool area and tennis court.
Cambridge-
on the ground floor in the adjoining building, it features a super king
size wrought iron bed with canopy (which can be separated into two
singles). This room also features an open plan lounge area for your
comfort.
Oxford- also located on the ground floor
in the adjoining building. Designed in Old English Leather, the super
king bed can be separated into two single beds if required. This room
is also paraplegic/wheel chair friendly.
Hamburg-
on the top floor of the adjoining building, it features a contemporary
modern design. The super king bed can be separated into two singles,
and there is also an open plan lounge area. Garden views.
Port Louis-
also on the top floor of the adjoining building, the Port Louis
features rattan furniture with an African theme. It contains a super
king size bed that can be separated into two singles if needed. Garden
views.
Mangapapa Suite at Mangapapa Lodge
The
opulent Mangapapa Suite at Mangapapa Lodge- This is a standalone suite,
spread over 3 rooms. Designed by Georgio Armani, it features art work
from famous artists such as Graham Sydney.
The bathroom features his and hers shower, a sink and a spa bath overlooking the tennis court.
The
spacious bedroom features two king size beds, and an orange leather
ceiling, two double wardrobes and doors opening to the balcony that
stretches over all 3 rooms.
Dining At Mangapapa - A Very Special Experience
At Mangapapa the menu changes each day, bringing you the best seasonal produce available. A "complete dining experience" awaits, one that you will remember forever.
Canapes and pre dinner drinks welcome you at 7p.m. At your
convenience, take your place at your candle lit table where you are
presented with a personalised menu.
Your feast includes an
appetiser, choice of three stunning entrees, a selection of four main
course dishes, a wide range of New Zealand fromage with falwasser wafers
and fresh fruit, and finally, a choice of three exciting desserts. Your
evening concludes perfectly with handcrafted truffles, and tea or
espresso coffee.
For your pleasure, choose from a select range of local and national wines, and some superior foreigners, such as Veuve Clicquot.
