So much so that it's consistently rated near the top on TripAdvisor reviews, and was awarded their Certificate of Excellence.. We love the modern clean rooms and excellent facilities, including several "chill out" areas, free tea and coffee, and free unlimited wifi for each night that you stay there. You can choose from dorm rooms, private rooms, or even a spacious 2 bedroom self contained apartment, with its own bathroom and kitchen. You will love the dorm rooms which feature comfortable single beds (no more bunks!). And the motel grade private rooms have a flat screen TV and DVD player, and access to a balcony. There's a bus stop outside for access to the city centre and airport, and the staff are always friendly and helpful. Highly recommended. For more information click here. Located about 15 minutes drive from the airport, Pavilions is a short walk to the city centre and is close to a range of restaurants. We like the spacious rooms and on our last couple of trips we stayed in the 2 bedroom suites, which were really clean and comfortable. It was also mid winter and the heating in the rooms was fantastic. We found the staff to be very knowledgeable and helpful with information on local attractions. Pavilions have an on site restaurant with a good selection of dishes, and with so much competition nearby, they need to deliver. We were very satisfied with our meal. The hotel also has a pool, spa and gym. Their free (limited) wifi is a bonus and worked well for us during our stay. We also liked the availability of their free parking right outside our room. And if you arrive late, they have 24 hour reception, and a 24 hour room service snack menu. Overall, a great place to stay. For more information click here. |

This all suite hotel offers you a choice of fully self contained 1, 2 and 3 bedroom apartments, all with full kitchen and laundry facilities. Our most endearing memories of the Heritage are the spaciousness of the suites. We have stayed in the 1 bedder and the towering ceilings, huge entry door, and mezzanine floor make it a really unique place to stay. If you are spending a few days in Christchurch, it's an ideal base. Unpack once, then go off and explore for the day, knowing that when you return, everything you need is there in the apartment. And because of its location, there are numerous restaurants close by. Facilities include an excellent health club with lap pool, gym, spa and sauna. There is also wifi in all rooms, a tour booking service, baby sitting, laundry service, and valet parking (some services attract an additional charge). There is an on site restaurant but at the time of writing it was only offering breakfast (no lunch or dinner). Local restaurants will however deliver to your room if desired. Commodore Airport Hotel 449 Memorial Avenue, Christchurch Phone +64 3 358 8129 Distance from airport approx. 3 minutes drive Approx. 15 minutes drive from city centre Commodore Airport Hotel has disabled access rooms available If you are looking for somewhere to unwind before or after your flight, this is one of the better motels that we have found. We have stayed here a few times and one of its best features is that it's only a few minutes drive from the airport. And if you don't have a car, they offer a free shuttle service to and from the airport. The rooms are clean & modern, and with an onsite restaurant, free wifi, a heated indoor pool, gym and even a tennis court, it's got all the necessary facilities to make your stay a comfortable one. The Commodore is also ideally located if you are starting your New Zealand holiday as the main road heading North and South (State Highway 1) is only a few hundred metres from the motel.
