The amazing Sky Waka gondola

Come and enjoy amazing views of this famous World Heritage area on the Sky Waka gondola.

Opened in mid 2019, the Sky Waka (Waka is the Maori word for canoe) takes you high above the North Island's famous Whakapapa ski fields.

On your journey of almost two kilometers (and to an altitude of over two thousand meters), the views will blow you away.

What is a "waka"?

Traditionally, a waka was a canoe, and in legend carried the ancient people to what is now their home land.

More than just a means of transport, the waka united family and friends, and opened new possibilities to explore.

And so it is with Sky Waka.
