Acacia Cliffs lodge is a luxury boutique lodge, overlooking stunning Lake Taupo, in the centre of New Zealand's North Island.







Welcome to Acacia Cliffs Lodge.

Acacia Cliffs Lodge was opened in April 2008, and overlooks the beautiful waters of Lake Taupo.

The Lodge accommodates up to eight guests in four suites. For your comfort, each suite has:

*A substantial private deck with either breath taking lake views or a private garden courtyard
*Elegant contemporary décor
*Luxurious en-suites and a selection of quality toiletries

Acacia Cliffs lodge was architecturally designed to capture stunning views of Lake Taupo, Mount Tauhara and the Kaimanawa Ranges.

This is the perfect place to enjoy your New Zealand honeymoon, take that overdue romantic getaway, or just a holiday, all in a relaxed, luxurious environment. You can also book exclusive use of the lodge for a special time with friends or family.

Your hosts, Linda and Rick, have an extensive knowledge of the local region, and will happily assist you with ideas and feedback on the many wonders of this beautiful region.

Here you can do as little, or as much as you like. The choice is yours. Scenic flights over the lake and nearby volcanoes, fly fishing with a professional guide, a game of golf at the Jack Nicklaus designed Wairakei International Golf Course, or a hike in the world heritage Tongariro Alpine Crossing. These are just a few of the many activities available in the region.

Make yourself at home.

Perhaps read a book with the sounds of local birdlife in the background (Tuis and Bellbirds are regular visitors), what could be more peaceful? Listen to a CD or watch a DVD. Enjoy a beverage from your in-room selection of refreshments. For the more active, explore the area on the lodge mountain bikes which are available for your use.

Kaimanawa, Parawera and Wharewaka all face east, providing guests with panoramic lake and mountain views. Imagine relaxing in your bed while watching the sunrise....

Mapara Garden suite

The Mapara Garden suite has a very special feature. A free standing bath designed to capture the afternoon sun and a view of its own peaceful garden courtyard.


Kaimanawa Suite (lake view)

Parawera Suite (lake view)

Dining At Acacia Cliffs

Rick's years in restaurant ownership ensure a wonderful dining experience for all guests. His passion is reflected in the quality of the dining experience at Acacia Cliffs. dining at Acacia Cliffs lodge Always looking to add to your dining pleasure, he attended culinary schools in Vietnam and Australia over the past few years. With an emphasis on using fresh local produce, you can be sure of the best quality available. And a carefully selected range of wines are available to perfectly complement your meal.

Superb cuisine, wonderful wines, sensational views, and great conversation guarantee a great dining experience.

Dinner

Pre-dinner canapes and New Zealand wines and beer provide the perfect introduction to dinner at Acacia Cliffs.

A memorable four course evening meal is offered at NZD $115 per person. You have the freedom to choose from the daily menu or you can ask them to prepare a dish that’s perfect for you!

Acacia Cliffs picture Take your dinner for two by candlelight on one of the spacious decks, or share with your hosts and other guests in the dining room, whilst gazing at the twinkling lights of nearby Taupo.

If you would prefer to eat out, Taupo has a wide range of dining options, and your hosts will happily recommend one and make the necessary bookings for you.




Activities - at Acacia Cliffs Lodge

Taupo has a wide variety of activities. But there is also plenty to do at Acacia Cliffs Lodge.

Their 2 hectares of landscaped grounds house unique native plants and birds. Relax and listen to the bellbirds and Tui, and watch fantails dart from tree to tree. Free range hens are on your doorstep and don’t be surprised to see grazing sheep in the grounds.

How about a game of petanque and a New Zealand Pinot to work up your appetite!

Acacia Cliffs Lodge has a library with a wide range of books, magazines, DVDs and board games for your enjoyment and relaxation.

They can also arrange a massage in the comfort of your room, or a deluxe facial.

If you would like to explore a little, complimentary mountain bikes are available. A picnic and swim at nearby Acacia Bay is a wonderful way to spend a few hours, or even visit the nearby cafe and artists gallery and ceramic studio.

The adjoining Mapara Native Bush Track allows easy access to the lake through beautiful native trees and ferns. The track is also home to glow worms, and viewing them makes for a pleasurable evening stroll.

Acacia Bay, easily accessible by car, foot or mountain bike, is a lovely safe swimming area, and has its own boat ramps.

If a spot of fishing entices you, the necessary licenses are available from the Acacia Bay store, and the local Bar and brasserie is the perfect place to mingle with other tourists and locals.

Activities - in the area

Rick and Linda have experienced most of Taupo's activities and are happy to guide you in the right direction. They can also make the necessary bookings for you.

The Taupo region offers four picture of golf course Lake taupo golf courses. Two of these are international standard! Lake, mountains and forest vistas give awe inspiring backdrops.

The pure waters of

picture of boat on Lake Taupo Lake Taupo offer stunning sightseeing and adventure options. A cruise or perhaps some fishing for our world famous rainbow and brown trout.

And in winter, the powdery slopes of Mt. Ruapehu offer wonderful conditions for skiiers and snowboarders, all on the slopes of an active volcano.

Visit bubbling mud pools, boiling springs, geysers, waterfalls and towering volcanoes (three of which adorn the landscape south of Lake Taupo). And if you are looking for an adrenalin rush, you can bungy, jetboat, and sky dive in the region.

The region is Tongariro Crossing picture also the perfect place to learn about the culture of the indigenous Maori people.

The nearby Tongariro Alpine Crossing is consistently rated as the best one day trek in New Zealand, and indeed as one of the world's best day treks. Taupo’s diverse landscape offers the perfect setting to hunt wild deer, boar and turkeys in amazing surrounds. So, whatever your preference, the region offers something to suit, all within easy reach of Acacia Cliffs Lodge.
